HELPERS…. On behalf of all of the committee, I would like to say a big, big thank you to all of our willing members that have helped out at an event or field day this year and to the friends and family they have also persuaded to come along with them!! To run each event takes a huge amount of planning and preparation as well as a large number of people on the day. All of the help and support from our members has made it possible to run the amount of events we have in 2010 and we hope we will have the same level of support to continue next year.
It has been great to see many new people helping this year, but for those of you who are unsure of what you will need to do on your helper day, please don’t worry! Full instructions are given for fence judging at the beginning of the day and there are always committee members at the events who will willingly explain anything you are unsure of, so please do ask! We are also keen if you would like to do a particular job i.e. dressage writing or jump judging then we will try and accommodate you as best we can, just let us know! Lunch and refreshments are provided to all of our helpers at the events, but if it is a cold day I would suggest you bring a flask to keep you warm! Every hour of your time is rewarded with a £1 “helper voucher” which can be used towards anything that the club runs from training, entry fees or camp, but please any questions, queries or requests, do let me know.
Unfortunately we have a few members that have been unable to help out this year and I need to take this opportunity to remind you all that helping out at a minimum of one event per a year is a membership requirement. We will be introducing a new scheme in which members that haven’t been able to fulfill their helper duties can help twice next year but if they don’t help again they will not be able to rejoin for the 2012 membership year.
